Mr. Jones is the Managing Partner of Syncom Venture Partners. He possesses over thirty-two years of venture capital investment management experience and has participated in over 125 investments during his tenure with Syncom Venture Partners and its affiliates. Mr. Jones currently serves on the board of a number of Syncom Investments including V-me Media, Weather Decisions, Inc., and TV One, LLC.
Mr. Jones also serves on a number of nonprofit and philanthropic boards, where he leverages his experience and expertise to give back to the community. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. He also serves on the board of the Robert Toigo Foundation and the board of the Howard University Entrepreneurial Leadership and Innovation Institute. Previously he served on the board of the Southern African Enterprise Development Fund, a presidential appointment, and is a former Chairman of the National Association of Investment Companies.
Prior to joining Syncom in 1978, Mr. Jones lived and worked in Nairobi, Kenya where he was a co-founder and Vice President of Kiambere Savings and Loan and a Lecturer at the University of Nairobi. He also worked as a Senior Electrical Engineer for Westinghouse Aerospace and Litton Industries.
Mr. Jones received a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Trinity College, a M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from George Washington University and a M.B.A. from the Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration.
